Community staff

There are a number of people providing a range of healthcare support.

The district nursing team

The district nursing team provide nursing and social care within the patient’s home. They advise on health related matters and have the ability to contact other agencies which may allow the patient, if appropriate, to stay in the community rather than in a hospital setting.

A 24 hour district nursing service is available and they can be contacted on 0300 421 6074 from 8am to 4pm for routine matters. This line will be answered from 4pm to 8am for emergencies only.

Midwife

The midwife provides pre-conceptual counselling, antenatal and postnatal care and gives professional advice on all aspects relating to the birth of your baby. This care is given in liaison with the doctors. The midwife may be contacted at the surgery or by leaving a message at Cinderford Health Centre on: 0300 421 6724.

Community dementia nurse

Community dementia nurses work with your GP to provide advice and support around receiving a diagnosis of dementia.

Community dementia nurses support the practice team to offer a yearly review for people diagnosed with dementia & can provide advice & support to people living with dementia & carers.
